Jeffrey Epstein emails joke that Trump “blew Bubba”. Which is the nickname for Bill Clinton.
Oh god the libs are going to go into homophobia overdrive
They already are... I'm so fucking exhausted by it already.
I really don’t understand how people’s brains work cuz how do thousands of people think they’re “progressive” and then call every hateful person who wants gay people dead or tortured via conversation “therapy” gay or closeted. I’ve also seen so many people call misogynistic straight guys gay (I’m aware gay guys can be misogynistic but in this case they’re “accusing” straight guys in their lives as being gay) and I’m just like… why are we constantly catching strays. It’s either “omg I want a gay best friend!1!1!” Or “my ex was horrifically misogynistic and evil, he was definitely gay” (I see the last one so much it’s so insane😭)
It's wild. I'm transfem, and I've had cis women initially react really positively to my being trans, only for them to immediately start spouting the most transphobic shit you've ever heard.
Like, sorry libs, but we can't be out here claiming we're such good progressive allies, and then be bigoted shitheads the moment something happens that we don't like.
het and especially cis allyship tends to be extremely conditional and limited in most cases. There are exceptions, people who are actually willing to reflect on their internalized biases are out there, there's people who actually support me when i need their help, but particularly libs are just very performative and shallow about it. Generally the more "centrist" / counter-revolutionary somebody is, the less they have personal experience with being marginalized and opressed, the less they are informed by actual theory and the more they go by liberal universalism, the higher the likelyhood they will immediately throw me under the bus.
The amount of cis people I’ve heard casually say we deserve our rights taken and deserve everything that’s happening because they’ve been affected in the most minor of ways (being asked their pronouns, even just seeing someone w pronouns in their username or bio triggers them, a trans person getting anywhere on a sports leaderboard even if it’s like 6th place, etc) is depressing.
I fr barely trust them anymore.
When I first started coming out as transfem, a lot of the cis women in my life initially seemed very supportive, and sometimes even offered to give me help and guidance. Even waxed poetic about the importance of "Sisterly bonding".
And all of that melted away, the moment actually asked anything of them.
I'm colorblind, so skills related to makeup and clothes are a huge struggle for me.
I tried talking about my frustration to a cis woman I know, hoping for some kind of guidance or sympathy.
Instead she disparaged me, and said "well you don't want to know about that stuff anyway. You don't want to be a vain removed who only cares about looks".
Cis people, so often, see trans people's desires, even for minor things, as some awful burden.
I'm no trans separatist or anything, but like you said, it's hard to really trust cis people when even the "supportive" ones are this hostile
