No one is going to nuke each other over Venezuela. China is not going to directly confront the US over Venezuela either. The US bombed Iran, where China buys a lot of oil, and China did not militarily confront the US in any way. China cares about projecting power around the first and second island chains. Everything else is secondary.
China probably sees Venezuela as just a good trading partner, and as part of Russia/Brazil's sphere of influence. Nicaragua under Sandinista rule only bothered to recognize the PRC in 2021.
China isn't the source of concern here, I think.
Hmm, you edited your post since I replied. I think wherever volatile elements are involved, watchful caution is appropriate.
