Midwest USA.

This is an old photo from June 2024 and I never posted it here. I was riding my dirt bike and almost ran little dude over. This may be the most common snake in the US, but I rarely ever find them.

I remember having one as a kid… I think dad caught him on our property. Fed him mealworms and eventually goldfish. Sorry goldfish 😌

I tried to keep one I caught, but it escaped and hid in the walls of the house, freaked out my parents when we came home and found it sunning itself in the living room months later. We couldn't catch it, got back into the house and didn't see it again.

Left a window open in the summer and inadvertently caught two bats… one in the shower that I was able to coax back outside… and one that hid behind a painting and had me believing in poltergeist 3 frigging days later 😰
