Just out of curiosity: Why would Graphene OS only choose Pixel phones? I mean, why should anyone shove money down Googles throat just to decouple from Google?

I know it's counter-intuitive but there are very good reasons, which are listed on their website:

Short version is that Google prioritizes software development and (more importantly) security in their hardware above some other qualities.
