The fact that nothing happened to the leader and there were no consequences to him spelt the mark of the beginning of the end of USA as we know it. Slowly it will slide deeper into fascism day by day until Trump is doing annexation like Hitler did. Trump is the embodiment of what America is and has become, the cumulative effect of themselves, their attitudes, their military, all on themselves now. America simply cannot sustain this for much longer. When Trump does, Vance will take up the reigns and I actually think he will be much worse than Trump as a leader.
USA will end up being split and broken up. Even right now we are seeing fractures on issues like CDC vaccinations and States Rights coming into play on how to vaccinate. Huge wars will take place to readjust human society to something liveable again by the 2060s. The 20s of every century has always been the starting point to shake up huge social issues and adapting to new technologies as a norm for the next 2 generations.
Valid. I wouldn't be surprised to eventually see a Balkanization of America. It's so huge, with widely varying climate and terrain, that there are wide swathes of population that have totally different needs.
The Northeast and West Coast would be the most likely breakaways.
Water supply is dire. The Colorado river is oversubscribed and most of the aquifers are being sucked dry for unsustainable agriculture. For the west coast (California) to break away it needs to take most of the Colorado river watershed with it. That means Utah, Colorado, and Arizona are critical.
