Yeah this is such a pipe dream after over a year of no movement, the first baby step is motivating citizens to voluntarily delete their "free" accounts on US services. Next good luck with corporate adoption, without hefty government subsidies they will never use Linux, LibreOffice, local hosting, or other alternatives. Since the government will not ban these platforms, the only way is to populate locally owned platforms which is ironic considering after so long lemmy is still fairly dead so again good luck.
