Good evening all,

New to Lemmy and such (reddit wasn't working for me)

Anyone knowledgeable in tarot or astrology? Wanted to start a discussion on the natural links between certain cards / placements and academic study. For example, maybe the suit of pentacles would be associated with the sciences.

Open to any and all ideas!

Nice to be here, nice to meet y'all,
the prinx

Hello. Lemmy is known for having a tech savvy userbase, not so much dabblers in the occult arts. Please don't let that dissuade you - I would be searching for a community with an occult bent first. Try any of the find-a-community communities and see where people point you towards.

Having said that, yes I do like the occults even though I can't say I take them seriously like I did in my youth. Traditionally the suit you would be looking for is the swords for the sciences, since the swords are associated with the domain of the mind, judgement, truth, thoughts, etc.

Edit: try !findacommunity@lemmy.ml

... not sure if there are other community finders outside of .ml but that should get you started

Forgot to reply last night my good Mothra, thank you for your help.
I much appreciate your advice to traverse these new lands.

Yet still, your occult knowledge continued the discussion!

Swords vs Pentacles - swords are associated with intellect and challenges of the mind and soul, but pentacles are associated with the material so I feel there's room for them both to be "the sciences". Maybe some sciences fall in the Swords bracket, and others fall in the Pentacles brace! Who knows!

Glad to have crossed paths, regardless
