Had to explain this to family yesterday.
Told them I'm positive he will do the right thing, but not for the reasons we want him to.

Pattison is an asshole but is somewhat of a patriot - they ran a bunch of pro-Canada messaging on their digital boards during the 51st state drama. Now excuse me as I go take a shower after defending him in the slightest.
They also price gouged on Canadian products when calls to buy Canadian started. There was no patriotism involved it was self interest.
Yes, he's such a patriot that he wants to ensure only Canadians have the right to fuck over other Canadians.

How can you tell?
A lot of other people have found success cowtowing to Trump. Even Canadians have tried.
Not decency, there were several calls out to boycott over this and they know what's good for their stakeholders.
