The US intercepts and boards an oil tanker in the Indian Ocean, the country's War Department reports.
"During the night, the U.S. Armed Forces conducted the inspection, maritime interdiction and boarding of the Aquila II without incident in the area of responsibility of INDOPACOM [U.S. Indo-Pacific Command]," the U.S. Department of War said on its X account.
According to reports, the tanker was operating "in defiance of the quarantine" established by Donald Trump for sanctioned vessels in the Caribbean.
The US Armed Forces tracked and pursued him from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean , it is detailed.
"The War Department will deny illicit actors and their allies the ability to challenge U.S. power in the global maritime arena," they warn.
