My partner was making the bulk of it, now I am underemployed and probably should be donating plasma again to help with rent.

What a wonderful pair of opinions these are, it means you never need to consider anything beyond the status quo because the people opposed to the status quo are "impure" in one way or another and you can safely disregard anything the scary radicals stay and just stick to nice safe CNN(or your media of choice) approved opinions on things.
