Something I've been thinking about:
Tall people have a biological advantage in certain sports, like basketball. That means the should be banned, right? Just based on the same logic (that biological advantages are unfair) then what's the difference?
Dutch people should be banned from playing basketball.
There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures. And The Dutch.
But seriously though, weirdly, I don't think the dutch are big basketball players. I can't think of a single Dutchman currrently in the NBA, despite basketball exploding in popularity throughout europe.
sex-segregated sports are ridiculous to begin with, only created because men were afraid of losing to women. the idea that women should be segregated from sports justifies itself by assuming that women are inherently inferior to men in any given physical activity, which is literally not true and just flat out sexist. sports are not supposed to be fair, and excluding people based on their gender because you think an entire sex will perform worse sounds absurd when put into words. women's sports leagues weren't created out of fairness in the first place. they were created because women were literally not permitted by men to play with/against men professionally.
I was joking with my other comment, but in some sports they solved this by having people only compete with others in their (weight) class. If this wasn't about appression, this would be the obvious proposal to abolish gendered sports.
