Begging you to elaborate. Getting lost in the world of some single player games is fantastic and they usually offer more complex social commentary.
I crave 1v1 competition and videogames are the easiest way to find it. I get bored of single player games because i don't want to watch cutscenes i want to play videogames so if I skip all the cutscenes and the game is not that fun or difficult it's shit.
Playing against code isn't nearly as rewarding as playing against a conscious mind
Ahhhhh, that's not uncommon. I am personally a very uncompetitive person so single player games are great for me. A lot of my enjoyment comes from solving "puzzles" of various forms and trying to understand the artists' intent. Learning the patterns of a combat system/particular boss and getting good at responding to it in real time is very satisfying as is discovering little secrets.
I do enjoy a good platform fighter though
I shouldn't say all single player is shit, i was being a bit silly. For me, I would rather play a game like factorio where the story might as well not exist but the game is one endless logic puzzle.
