Eh, don't know if you can truly separate the IDF and their religion. Certainly the rhetoric they employ relies upon it.
So why is the Israeli government and IDF committing a genocide?
Because of nationalism and colonialism. They might use religious rhetoric where it suits them and there are religious people in government, I don't deny that, but over all it's a ethnic supremecist ideology and religion is only one identity marker, not the motivator.
And all of this is rooted in religious overtones. You take the religious aspects out and I doubt this would be happening. The ethnic supremacy is rooted in religion.
Small minded response
Murican patriotic rhetoric is full of liberty and the founding fathers and the flag and stuff. Do you think, without one of these elements, there would be no nationalism?
I'm not talking about the US.
And I was giving an example of nationalism that's more than its rhetoric
