France is saying that Iran's strikes have demolished 30 to 40% of the oil refinery capacity in the Gulf, resulting in a shortage of 11 million barrels a day on the global scale. It also says it could take up to three years to restore the facilities.

Buckle up, guys.

Why do I need to buckle up if the car is out of gas?

[-] DonLongSchlong@lemmygrad.ml 20 points 4 weeks ago

How do we buckle up? I have no idea how to prepare for next weeks decades 😭

Honestly idk either. I guess now is a time to secure some food reserves because fuel shortages impact a lot of different sectors and food is, of course, the most important.

Ouuu I guess I get to learn how to pickle things! And I will be planting lots of beans this year too.

Maybe, an electric bike and preparing your body to handle kms in distance might help 🤔

Also, customizing that bike to handle your groceries could be a good idea.

Disclaimer: this will only work if you are in the city. People from the suburbs might be fucked for good.

Getting an e-bike changed my life as somebody who still has to learn to drive. Totally worth it, even if the cost is hard to stomach upfront. They’re FAST too. Mine tops out at around 45 KM/H on flat ground. And I’m laughing all the way to the bank these days cuz it’s pure electric.
