I was skeptical, immadiately. Can't imagine Epic Games worth "just" $1.5 Billion. A terrible title.

Yeah, Fortnite makes a billion a year. I can't imagine the entire company would sell for so little.

The downturn in Fortnite engagement that started in 2025 means we're spending significantly more than we're making, and we have to make major cuts to keep the company funded. This layoff, together with over $500 million of identified cost savings in contracting, marketing, and closing some open roles puts us in a more stable place."

Less than a week ago they fired a bunch of staff because due to (falling) profits. It's disgusting, all these people suffer so that the c-suite can get a nice payout when if / when Disney buys.
