Whenever you see seemingly inexplicable sympathy for the Zionist entity in an African country it is one of two things: either economic ties to the entity, or pervasive influence of Christian Zionism (or a mixture of both).
It's christian zionism and conflation of religious conflict with class conflict.
Typically northern states are Muslim, and the southern states are christian.
Most of their wealth is primary concentrated in Lagos state, which is 83% christian and has over 8 times the wealth of the next wealthiest state. This is while the northern states are primarily Muslim.

This is also why there's a focus in the west regarding the killing of Christians in Nigeria. It's literally class warfare.
Nigeria was created by the British like a 50 years before independence - historically there was like meager cultural exchange between north and south (and south & east)
Also the killings are primarily driven by land conflict in the agricultural & herding-based underdeveloped northern economies.
Nigeria is very mentally colonized. Since Nigeria is such a big country, a lot of effort is put in by the western powers to weaken the class consciousness of the people there
