I don't have much to add from the last megathread description. This isn't to say that nothing has happened or has changed since then - decades are still happening in weeks - but the general flow of the war is remaining the same. Trump sometimes threatens to open the Strait with troops and flatten Iran to rubble, and other times threatens that he's gonna back off and let other countries handle it if they really want little trifles like "fuel" and "energy" so much. Iran continues to strike across the Middle East. The West continues to bomb civilian infrastructure due to their relative inability to affect the missile cities. In all: things are generally getting worse for America and the Zionists.
April is the month where the last ships that left Hormuz before it was closed will arrive around the world, so the last month of economic turmoil has been a mere prelude to what's going to occur in the near-future. The silver lining is that Iran appears to be formalizing the new state of affairs in Hormuz, creating a rial-based toll to allow passage between a pair of Iranian-controlled islands where they can be monitored, meaning that, as long as the US doesn't do something exceptionally stupid, the global energy crisis may "only" last a couple years instead of simply being the new reality from now on. Some countries have already agreed to this arrangement, and others will inevitably follow despite their consternation as their economies increasingly suffer.

I think we should understand Iraq as a representing an anomaly due to the end of the Cold War where the US was mildly toned down in its genocidal methodology. Destroying entire societies is the original core component of US military doctrine, after all. But in the 90s and 2000s the empire thought it could rewrite the world in its image and so did the "nation-building" stuff, wanting to create a bunch of little Euro-style vassal states with their own silly little liberal democracies.
So Bush was the lesser evil.

With that said, I doubt he would've started a war he couldn't win either.
I think the idea is that the US could have hypothetically won in Iraq in military terms, but doing so would have required them to do things that they were ideologically incapable of, like not killing hundreds of thousands of civilians out of rage and spite, as well as a much greater commitment to actually developing Iraq instead of plundering it
in practice, of course, this means that they couldn't have won because the superstructure and the base are both vital components and neither can be dismissed. for a crude analogy, I am physically capable of putting my hand on a hot stove for five straight minutes, but mentally it would almost certainly be impossible for me to actually do that
however, in Iran, there isn't even really a military argument currently that the US can defeat Iran, regardless of whether the US would be ideologically willing to do what it would take (drafting an absolute minimum of one million troops, training them, equipping them, transporting them to the Middle East, taking casualties while staging them, which would take years while the world goes through the worst energy and fuel crisis it has ever faced)

I mean they won in the sense that they destroyed the iraqi military, ousted Saddam and put in something they wanted while maintaining bases there forever afterwards.
That can be reframed into a war that never actually ended with an army that turned into a resistance force of various factions but I think they did win with what they set out to do there.
Afghanistan on the other hand... I guess you'd be kinda right but they could have done more there if they wanted to, they chose not to really though so they kinda sorta got what they wanted?
