Epstein class is the capital owning class. There's nothing being invented out of thin air here.
Why the heck call it the Epstein class? Why fetishize this person? Why not simply call it the capital owning class?
Because it's effective. Marxist jargon will bounce off of non-Marxists, but if you say "Epstein class", everyone knows exactly what you're talking about - billionaire pedophiles who operate with complete impunity. It isn't a proper scientific definition, but it gets the point across and is largely accurate.
Because it’s easier than saying “the class of people who are rich enough to rape and murder and eat babies and get away with it”
What? I am sorry, they did not get away with it, why else would you have news cycle upon news cycle dedicated to the case?
Are they in prison? No. They got away with it. Why are you Epstein class apologist?
Who the fuck am I apologizing for. Where did I say "umm ackchually epstein wasn't as bad". I am saying that framing the whole thing around epstein, even when just using him as a foot in the door, does nothing but further the magical thinking around epstein being some sort of ultra-cunning puppetmaster, which he wasn't.
Yet so many aren't "stopped." No, it does reek of apologia.
Yes and this is the case for the vast majority of investigations in organised crime. You don't see mafia networks not being completely dismantled and people there getting away. You don't see cops protecting other cops when they transgress. The whole Epstein thing is a pattern that repeats in all of society, on almost all levels.
I cannot help but notice the parallels between Epstein and Plastic straws in media. On one side you have the outrage regarding Epstein, on the other you have systemic facts that enable Epstein that also cause a lot of other uncomfortable realities. You have plastic straws that most can do without, where it's easy to say "we don't need this" and then you have an entire economy centred around single use plastics where straws are only a minute subset. We could say this is just barking around the lowest common denominator and I find it insulting that the science of economic critique has its language, aesthetics and politics appropriated for tabloid-level engagement farming.
Now, where am I committing the sin of apologia of shaving cuts when I am rubbing salt in the wounds otherwise covered by garment?
This is terribly important context that wasn't included, and made your post sound incredibly apologist. Perhaps any important clarifying context could be included in the future, to avoid this confusion.
I don't think anything Epsein et al were doing has stopped, unfortunately.
Epstein, Andrew, and a lot of people in their circle were stopped tho?
Because it highlights the depravity of the ruling class. It reminds people that we are ruled by literal rapists and pedophiles who operate completely outside the rule of law. This is a critical point to hammer for people who still have the delusion that western liberal system is some sort of a functioning democracy.
Dividing the ruling class into "Depraved listed in the Epstein files" class and the "Morally correct capitalists not listed in the Epstein files" does not help class conciseness.
I'm not dividing anything. There are no moral capitalists.
Then there's no reason to make an Epstein list distinction. We already know they're all like that.
You might, a lot of people don't. I see zero reason not to remind people at every opportunity.
I don't think the "depravity" needs to be highlighted. Workers know the depravity they're forced into by heart.
Yeah, that's just not true. Plenty of the people in RL I talk to still simp for the system and the capitalist class. They are yet to grow any class consciousness whatsoever. The Epstein class moniker emerged organically somewhere over the last little while and it works great as a little tool to elevate people's cosciousness a wee bit. Many "just get it" without further explanation. A Marxist shouldn't waste the tools thrown at her just because they don't neatly fit the theory.
Oh? You were aware of the paedivores this whole time? Because all of this crap was news to me.
I am sorry, this reads like gibberish to me.
You might, but majority of people in Canada are firmly in the liberal mainstream. I see zero harm in highlighting that the system is completely lawless myself.
