Pyramid Lake is now a fully autonomous collective in Nevada. Hexbear users are sitting in their nice, air-conditioned, bedrooms while actual workers are out there building community support during a disaster. They are pooling resources, rationing, and helping one another survive. I thought the point was to have support, albeit critical, for AES, but I guess not. Burning Man is closer to Marx's ideal socialist state than China ever will be.

Can we just defederate from them already? What is the point in continuing to exist with people who actively spew hatred and misinformation about our comrades in Nevada?

Also , it's important to note that In most of the gendered languages the masculine form is neutral and in my mind i wasn't gendering you but just using a word used to call someone attention.

Yeah, but we have quite a bit of research to the contrary, that the masculine form is actually not processed as neutral. There are some who try to keep up the "masculine means all", but honestly there are a couple of experiments which in my opinion falsify that.

One question you could ask is if statistically people mention the most common self labeled genders mostly equal in speech, but that is something that I have yet to see actually be done successfully. The contradiction to it was shown in studies though.

There was a test done that asked a group of french speakers and German speakers to write a poem about the moon. In French it's feminine and is German it's masculine. They found that they gave it attributes and descriptions based on gender it has in their corresponding languages so the gendering does in fact affect the perception of the speaker. If the norm of the language is to use masculine for neutral, why would it work differently ?

I think statistically, we use 'I' and 'you' the most when speaking.

Burning woman would be more feminist

And yet would have to be actively feminist to not gather anti feminists, since it sounds eerily like witch hunts.

Gesturing at "some studies" when our friend didn't even specify the languages they were coming from isn't very compelling.

Also, they did still apologize and at least imply they would correct their behavior, so it seems like a scenario where not even acknowledging -- let alone accepting -- their apology isn't productive.
