"We knew it was a problem (which is why we didn't send it to the country that has laws against it), but we still sent it anyway" is maybe the stupidest way to approach this lmao
A redditor said they subbed to the email in English, so they got the email in Germany. They were just checking language (which is semi-reasonable from a "do this quick" logic). But is a really funny way to do compliance.
"Yeah this might be illegal in X country, just check if that country's language is used and comply with the bare minimum. Surely no one outside the country speaks that language, or someone inside speaks another language."
