Up until Mad Men Hamm was mostly in drama, then made a quick turn and ended up in lots of comedy, ever since. I would honestly say, after a quick check of his IMDB, that he's done more comedy than drama since Mad Men ended.
He was the perfect choice for Don Draper but I'm glad he was able to branch out too. He's a good actor.
