- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

Edit: i dont see anything on any adjustments to congressional compensation. Let me know if you see anything.
They omitted language blocking an automatic cost of living increase which was present in the Senate bill. This is explained in the article.
Uhhh.... is that how that works? I would imagine you cant do a bait and switch where you pass one bill and propose another when it gets to the senate.
The bill already passed through the house.
The Senate produced their own bill, which McCarthy did not bring to the floor for a vote. This bill from the house now goes to the Senate to die.
The senate had been working towards voting on (because a group of republican senators were delaying it) a bill that was almost identical to what just passed the house.
You could just read the article, it says so in it!
