If you want some real nightmare fuel, there used to be 8 foot long millipedes
Wow, imagine being the group of scientists on vacation and just stumbling upon that!
The thing is though, at that size bugs just become a threat like any other large animal, it's scary but not creepy.
Small bugs give the heebie jeebies because they're so small you can't keep track of them, they can sneak into clothes and other stuff or fucking bury into your flesh AAAAAAA i hate it.
The same even applies to mammals, a tiger is scary but a mouse scampering around makes many people blank out in absolute panic.
