Because it is a strong storyline, an interesting world, and you can make some lovely connections while playing. And as long as you don't finish the game you don't have to have your heart broken.

Ha I totally agree. Now that PL is out, my counter went to about 310 hours so far and I still have 2 or 3 endings to do.

But one of the endings from the original choices that is sort of... happier, I suppose, absolutely broke me and made me furious with a certain main character. Worse than the devil endings even.

The first one I did on PL at least left me with a sense of hope. Even if it hurt a bit too.

Edit: side note, is there a soilers tag on kbin?
