I'm a brassist and that stuff usually ends up on your or your neighbors shoes and clothes, or the floor.
Trumpet players dumping their spit valves on the floor all around their feet never ceases to disgust me lol
They are marking their territory.
I think more disgusting would be if they collected it in a little cup and drank it
I play tuba, not really that gross, everyone does it in my band
