Careful EU, with how they are leveraging NATO I imagine they will try the same thing once in the EU. Is it as difficult to kick a country out of EU as it is to kick one out of NATO?

Yes, requires all member states to agree. Which sucks as EU would love to get rid of Poland and Hungary right about now.

EDIT: Replaced Romania with Hungary.

No, there's no mechanism for expulsion, only suspension

While true, suspension is more than likely to lead to self expulsion.

Well it's never happened so I wouldn't say it's likely. And why would they self expel when they continue to have single market access?

Why those 2 countries? Genuinely curious. Not in EU and I don't really know what's going on there.

Both are far-right autocratic governments who gladly take EUs money, while blaming everything on EU (in Polands case especially Germany). Both block tons of important political decisions. Hungary is arguably a dictatorship with no free media outlets and questionable elections, Poland steers in the same direction. The widespread racism, antisemitism and homophobia are also a given.

I honestly had no clue. Before you guys answered, I was thinking it was more about the economy. I appreciate the explanation.
