Regular mowers have a person which animal can recognize as a threat and run away. They may not bother running from an automated mower I imagine.

Might sound stupid, but perhaps then they shouldn't be offering services like Disney Plus and instead simply offer a car that lets you download any streaming app you have your own subscription for.

Why does anyone live there? Is it cheap?

Products that change the service they offer after you purchase it should also be eligible for a full refund (plus a % on top for the hassle). Such as offering a service through the product for free at the time of purchase but then moving it being a monthly subscription paywall later on, or just removing the feature completely.

Seriously. Unless it includes the cost of like multiple ten+ year maintenance contracts I think they overpaid.

Only way I can see it happening is if they come up with a material where they can print the exterior facing, "studs" of some sort that are vertical like a typical 2x4 wall, and the subfloor/floor joists, and roof gables.

In such a way that typical trades people can still do the same work as they do in a regular home like drilling through the framework where needed to run pipes and wiring, throwing up drywall interior, and putting down tile or laminate flooring and putting up shingle roofing.

If the companies try and make the consumer eat the cost, then the companies who sell their products in cardboard packaging instead of plastic will be able to sell it for cheaper and potentially steal business from the others. There are plenty of products sold in plastic which do not need to be.

There should almost be some sort of technological transfer to nearby empires, like cultural influence. If your neighbour is at 10000 tech points or whatever while you are at 1000, you should be able to leech some tech points from your neighbour to develop faster.

Transfer rate increases with the disparity between nations and decreases with distance.

So a super advanced empire on continent A will contribute to nations on continent A and B, but those on continent A get more of a bonus than those on B.

This aligns fairly well with reality as neighbouring countries would transfer students to universities all the time, less so the further the nations are apart.

Depends on the location. Mosquito control is done all over, but I'm only somewhat familiar with north america.

It's pretty widespread in the United States where it's done by government employees at the municipal and county level I believe. They do use a fair bit of aerial spraying in certain areas though as I understand since there is a high concern of certain diseases being spread in certain areas.

In Canada it's mostly done by private companies (ironic I know) with a few areas being done by the government, and it's mostly done just because of nuisance and negative economic effects from outdoor workers and tourism so aerial spraying of chemicals is pretty much not done at all except for one major city which is phasing it out.

If you live anywhere in north America that's nearby a river, coast, swampland, or significant snowmelt into he spring, you may have a local mosquito control program.

I never even knew the control programs existed until I came across the job postings and got hired, but they are fairly wide spread.

They'll also pop holes in your tires in the winter trying to eat the road salt off of them.

Do you use an entire avocado for your toast?

Where I live it's $5 a gallon for milk (let's assume 1/10 gallon for breakfast cereal so $0.50 per bowl)

Then it's like $1.00 /100g of cereal, so you're probably looking at $1.50 for a bowl of cheerios.

Where I live I can get avocados for $1.20 each and a loaf of bread for $4.50 (14 slices?) so if I use half an avocado for my slice of toast that's less than $1.

Where I live I'm looking at a possible $1600 mortgage for a 750sq ft. apartment if I live in a shitty part of town where I may need to replace a window due to stray bullets at some point.

My PC constantly freezes if I'm not playing a game or have a game running.

✅ If I'm playing a game, it's fine.

✅ If I have a game running in the background while doing other stuff, it's fine.

❌ If I leave my PC while playing a game and the lock screen pops up, it will freeze.

❌ If I do anything other than gaming, such as browsing the web or digital art, PC will freeze.

❌ If PC goes to sleep overnight, it will freeze.

The frozen PC will typically show no error code and display will show "no input" until I hard reset.

If I hard reset, it often won't successfully turn back on unless I move the mouse while it's resetting, otherwise it will freeze again on the windows loading screen.

Sometimes I will actually get a blue screen with the error code of DPC_Watchdog_Error or something like that.

Anyone know where I should look first to try and fix this? It's been happening for weeks now and it's driving me crazy. I can't figure it out.

What companies will you never give another dollar to?

What happened that put them on your blacklist?

Just trying to check "unread messages" despite no notifications indicating there are some, just to refresh the inbox and make sure there's nothing in limbo before notifications appear (not sure how the technicalities work).

If there are no new messages the app crashes. Can make it crash multiple times in a row. Works fine if there is a notification and unread messages present.
