There are about as many Chinese people who speak English as a second language as there are Americans speaking English natively.

I'm sure you would notice it if they had unrestricted access to the internet. They can't all be lurking.

Yes, most. But not all. There are currently approximately 50 million Chinese people living elsewhere.

That's a lot more than the domestic population of many individual countries.

I lived in China for a few years and the number of Chinese people who think they can speak English is a lot different than the number of people who actually can speak English and be understood by other English speakers.
