I was a boost user for reddit, and when it finalized for Lemmy I had to "launch the rocket" ๐Ÿš€ (get it again) I loved it over there and it is getting awesome here, as for privacy, I honestly don't know, and I know that is probably the worst thing I could say here. I was so angry with reddit about the greed and all it just felt right to keep supporting boost. I am rather noob to the privacy concerns and I am learning.
