Brand new Shinkansen of course, but Tokyo also had trams throughout all of the 60s

Tokyo in 1964 still kicks the ass of the USA ~60 years later when it comes to HSR.

I have no idea how many kilometers of HSR existed in 1964 over there but it's still higher than the USA's zero in 2023.
