Comrades I’m sorry to say, but True Crime has fallen…

Gossip posts go in c/gossip. Don't post low-hanging fruit here after it gets removed from c/gossip
Yeah, one of the hosts of LPOTL also just got sacked for being a weird abusive mess. Time for a true crime podcast about true crime podcasts.
> Last Podcast on the Left
> They're not on the left at all
well yeah that's because they're referencing the horror movie instead of politics
wtf is a movie. is that that thing that zizek hates.
Marcus has said some pretty based shit before and Henry's been on Chapo so I hold out hope
Marcus's anticommunist statements a year or two back were likely my final straw. He was talking about doing an episode on Mai Lai shortly after and I didn't want to be there for it. The noticable drop in quality preceding that and the sycophantic fanbase was also a factor, in addition to the overall sleezy nature of true crime.
He also had the least input on that show and was in no way funny. I honestly do not know what he actually brought to the team.
The more recent episodes I bothered to listen to it is clear that Marcus and the funny one were sick of his shit and openly mocked him for his stupid takes and attempts to be funny
The funny one is Henry.
Worked on fox news too
Yeah, that was always a red flag for me. That an his mind-numbingly stupid takes on everything.
Isn't that the one that tried to run for office in NYC?
Came in 6th for a 3 way race
He defo tried somewhere
LPOTLPOTL
I listen to them but have no social media presence can you link me to something that explains what happened with Ben i have only what was said on the show
Thanks, that sucks big time. I was never the biggest fan of Ben but it certainly puts a stain on the reputation of the podcast for me at least
I haven't listened to LPOTL in about five years, and I was only really a listener for a two year period starting in 2013, but I remember that Kissel hosted a political show. Just looked it up, and he was still hosting it as of September of this year, with almost 750 episodes. I listened to two episodes, probably in 2014, and based on my hazy memory of that I'd call him a bizzaro left-libertarian type.
What I'm saying is, this isn't a surprise.
Also I distinctly remember there was an early episode where they made a big deal out of them being a podcast with no corporate backing, and then sometime after I'd stopped listening I learned they made a deal to host their show exclusively on Spotify.
