Admittedly I haven't been following US politics much since Biden took office and things calmed down a bit... so I was more than a little surprised to read that they're trying to impeach him. I couldn't possibly imagine what for since he's the most milquetoast president we've had in ages. Turns out it's not even him, it's "his family's shady business dealings" whatever the fuck that means.
Honestly, it's like the GOP has no concept of morality or laws and just heard someone say that Trump did that and it was bad so we should accuse Biden of it!
It's literally only because this way whenever anyone says anything about Trump being impeached they can say "But Bibem was aslo impeached!"
It's worth noting that one of the guys involved in the effort, James Comer, did exactly the same thing he is trying to impeach Biden over (loaning $200,000 to a family member and having it be repaid). Only difference is when Biden did it he was a private citizen. When Comer did it he was in government, oh and he used shell companies.
Meanwhile, another member, Jim Jordan, head of the judiciary committee (and who has no professional judicial or legal experience at all, never having passed the bar or practiced) defied a subpoena.
The entire thing is a farce to try and undermine the very legitimate impeachments of Trump.
things absolutely did not calm down once biden took office though. the media just stopped whining about it.
And yet Trump's family is 100x more shady and are they concerned about that? Nope!
People have even testified that Hunter wouldn't use his influence-by-proxy they way they wanted and still the (R-~~Russia~~Republican) party is desperately trying to even the score on impeachments for Trump so he can at least say "But Biden got impeached too!"
