in fairness, it's about an Arizona ranger, not a Texas ranger.
And Agua Fria is in New Mexico. Presumably Texas Red is Texan I guess? Though he's not exactly the hero of the story

There’s only a Texas version of some pickup trucks because Texans constantly tell everyone Texas is the best.
