For me it’s the notification light you used to find on older phones, was particularly good to know if your phone was charged without picking it up

Nope, that EU legislation only requires batteries be replaceable, not swappable. In other words, you probably won't need a heat gun to replace it, but you'll probably still need a screwdriver.
