Great article! I have vivid memories of renting this from Hollywood Video (a southern california blockbuster equivalent), getting so confused, and giving up on it very quickly.
Topic-adjacent but Hollywood Video was national. I visited one in northern Virginia and in Florida as a kid.
A lot of the Blockbusters in my area became Hollywood Video at one point, although that didn’t last long either
Nice! I wasn't sure so I just mentioned it. Never seen memes about it the way I have with blockbuster haha
