I bet Studio Ghibli could pull off a good game.

There's one I've started the other day that kind of reminds me of Ghibli including the black sprites. Kena Bridge of Spirits

Ni No Kuni 2 got mixed reviews but I absolutely loved it. Its up there with Xenoblade 3 for me.

I think that's because it didn't have monster catching and the field battles were kind of shit to deal with. Otherwise great game.
