The basic idea is that the universe is unjust and gods sends people to hell for "sins" because of his own bigotry.
Of course, they dropped all that when they realized that gay tumblr ships were going to get more views that whatever the original point was.
The show was Tumblr as hell from the jump, they didn't drop anything, that's always been the whole point.
It was Tumblr as hell but it switched from that and a story to tumblr fanfiction of its own characters.
Even Tumblr will admit that Tumblr can be up its own ass every now and then and see shipping as the product instead of something to compliment it.
Welp now I'm sad about Welcome to Nightvale again.
