I've never had to scan a QR code for a menu, but I'm pretty sure this would be the path to bring out my inner-boomer.
Where I live it became the norm in a lot of places at the start of the "we know COVID is still killing people but we're gonna pretend things are back to normal" era. Menus were another thing that had to be constantly disinfected, so it's understandable that they went.
