Why does my cat (3F) like to dig like this? (lemmy.world)

My cat Delilah likes to dig her paws in an empty, large, green plastic salad bowl in the kitchen. She goes hard with it too. Why does she do this? Is it the texture? Is it the light green color throwing her vision?

There was a recent study that shows that cats are fucking crazy and they do some crazy ass shit. I think it was in a Zoological journal or something.
