I don't really think that's true. With such a high manufacturing output, there are multiple examples of high quality and low quality manufacturing results. But the fact of the matter is, at least in the states where I am, all the best stuff is made in China, and all the worst stuff is made in China. It's just that everything's made in China.
To be fair, really really bad stuff is made all over the world. But how many high-quality items come from outside of China? A few from Japan and Germany? Maybe a handful of things made in the USA? But that's about it. If it isn't from a few key countries, it's a pretty cheap item.
They are trying to hide it now too. A lot of the big manufacturers are saying "assembled in the USA with global materials" which pretty much means it was made in China and then they shipped it over in a box and somebody in America put a couple of screws together. 99% made I'm China, then "assembled" somewhere else.
My problem with "made in China" stems from the fact that we have been so conditioned by consumerism that we have basically ruined the potential for quality.
The only way for more high-quality products is to consume less.
Oh well, if that's what you mean then yes. Enshitificatiom is totally a thing and applies to physical products all the same (though with different factors involved) and the companies that are designing the products (China of course builds basically whatever you ask them to), they for sure have been designing crappier products over time because that's cheaper.
It's like a full-time job trying to research for high-quality products.
