Congress routinely gives the military MORE money than they ask for when passing the war budget. There are storage lots full of tanks that will never be used because money is continuously pumped into the MIC. Imagine any social service program asking for money and congress appropriates even more than they're asking for an increases it every year. It's wild.

I wonder how much this is actually true versus a narrative that we just heard in the media. If you're getting more money than you asked for, it's always possibe to... not use it, and doesn't make sense in the first place. It seems like a narrative that's supposed to put the blame on those "useless bureaucrats" instead of "our dear and precious and righteous military!"
