/c/café daily chat thread for 23 July 2023
(self.cafe)
Welcome to our virtual third place, The Café.
Come on in and make a new human connection over a cup of coffee (or Teh Tarik). This is a casual community, do whatever you want, share your oyen pics, your frustrations, and even organize a weekend picnic with the community. The world is your oyster.
Rules are simple, be kind and civil with each other. As with any other café, rude patrons will be kicked out.
Urgh, don't feel like waking up _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_
Also damn i dropped my phone yesterday, the vibration motor isn't working and i thought only that thing damaged, but last night wanna charge phone and i realised i can't charge it as well. And the bottom speaker not working, and probably the mic as well. And the battery is bloated.
What luck uhuk _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_
edit: hmm, as i suspect, apparently when the phone battery bloated it ripped off and bend off the ribbon connector for the lower half of the phone, so i might have to have it fixed at the shop asap. how annoying
edit2: after bending all the pin back and reconnected(except a few pin that broke off), i able to restore all the functionality of the bottom panel...except the usb port. of all the thing i can do without, it has to be the charging port...
Oh shoot. New phone shopping?
Change part already, no new phone 🙈
That was quick…. DIY?
It sounded like many things needed replacement
Ahh, no, went to a shop to get it done. It only need battery and ribbon connector change. Rm180 for both including labour, even though the part is below rm100 but hey, they get thing done quick, can't complain.
I dropped my phones all the time and never had any issue tho. No case?
Could be just the build quality, had case. Or just my luck lol
I think it's really a chain of event that cause this so it might not applied to all the other phone in the line though. I left my phone on my car seat one time with direct sunlight, that might've cause the battery to bloated up and i didn't realize it, which strain the ribbon's connector. That drop is the final tug that pull the connector off i believe.
Poco x3 pro btw
