I wish Netflix would get the rights and produce new seasons of the animated series. There is a lot of story to be told between Zuko's mother's storyline, the founding of Republic City before the Legend of Korra and the adventures of team avatar as adults.

It's a pretty common expectation at this point for a Netflix show to be cancelled after its first or second season despite performing well. They also combined storylines from books 2 and 3 into episodes for the first season. Personally I didn't think it would be more than two seasons.
