What is the point of this article? Is it trying to be funny? If so u don’t think it works at all. Seems like some AI trash maybe?

[-] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 7 points 8 months ago

Agreed, I think it was trying to use sarcasm and it fell flat.

It was just such a weird take that seems very like, counter productive to the obvious editorial goal of promoting e-bikes.

To me it seems like the obvious goal is spreading fud and bs excuses to condemn electric bikes. This kind of writings are all around on electric cars and wind and solar power and many other things now so idiots can parrot the headlines.

It's just a humor article. Not sure if you read past the headline but the whole article is about the positives of an e-bike. If anything maybe someone who by default is opposed to or on the fence about e-bikes might click on the article to get some negative takes and they find only positive ones,

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
