There is a very short and very fast-moving pipeline that exists between the spiritualist woo hippie thing and fascism.

I was already vaguely aware of it, although it's just recently that I found out that the kind of "alien" soul a lot of them think they have is just a tall white guy with blonde hair and blue eyes, which is so much worse than thinking your soul is like, a grey or a space octopus or something.
