Yeah manga and anime is like that. It's usually random English words, but German is common too.
Sorry I just checked and saw all the demon names (in particular lügner) and was convinced, so i edited just as you posted.
And it's like... all the names? I don't think a single name I've seen so far isn't just a random German word
Check out Gundam sometime. It's probably the best series for bizarre names. You've got Full Frontal, Bring Stability, Locking Stratos, Revive Revival. And of course Quattro Bajeena.
Jojo is fun too. There's a martial arts master named Master Tompetty and a guy dressed like Willy Wonka named REO Speedwagon
