It's been about 15 years since I last was able to find some actual raw opium, but man that was the shit. What a great nightcap, and significantly less bad for you than drinking a bottle of wine or 8 beers or whatever before bed. Just a nice, mellow buzz. Bring all that shit back.
I still dream about it. I'm too lazy, but one day I'll grow some poppies and keep a quart of laudanum on hand at all times.
