Every EMS I've known has hated cops with a white hot vengeance. One paramedic I knew said if they saw a cop blocking their way to a scene ever again they'd just accelerate.

As for the professor, bold of the cops to antagonise the usually easy to appease haute intelligentsia.

I know of one exception, an ex friend who was trying to get hired as a trainee cop after working as a licensed EMT for a little while. Comic book brained-ass individual
