What's the Rubicon in this era?
November 5th.
This is probably the best answer. If he crosses Nov 5th with a win the Republic is fucked.
I’m going with Covid
Rubicon is the river Ceaser crossed as the no return point before taking over Rome. COVID was not that point for America.
Source? Loss of faith in institutions. An election of incompetent candidates. People literally sacrificing themselves for political ideology. Toilet Paper hoarding shows the greed inherent in the system. Price gouging. Supply chains revealed the fragility of the capitalist economy. Inflation begins and indicates the new normal. The dissipation of pollution during COVID added solar radiation to latent heat increasing climate warming. 2020 was the Rubicon. Climate change will increasingly exacerbate the global economy leading to a destabilization of governments and civil unrest and wars. Am I missing something; was it when the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup?
...for what?
For COVID not being the Rubicon. 2019 was the last semi-sane year globally. It’s only downhill from there. Oh, I forgot Ukraine and Israel, the genocide in the Sudan. Global crop failures. Deadly wet bulb temperatures.
For one, Trump was not reelected after COVID.
Two: Stop Spamming My inbox. Wtf. You do it again, instead of acting like a normal human being I'm blocking you.
How’bout I block you and your insecurities instead.
Clown
If you're going to edit a comment after I replied to you, I'm not even going to bother entertaining reading your edit. Be a normal person.
Join us at collapse to study why 2020 and COVID was the Rubicon.
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !collapse@lemm.ee
I edited to give my reasoning. Did you not want evidence?
