The evolution costs as much as my very good MTB...
Yup! That recommendation is at best for those >2000€ bikes at best
This is the one I'm talking about, $75
Kryptonite Evolution 1055 Mini 10mm Chain Bicycle Lock , Black https://a.co/d/0xjPXNw
If your bike is worth over $300 then imo it's worth it, now that every douchebag has a mini bolt cutter in their backpack (around here)
I wonder how those electric/powered bolt cutters fare against that...I mean the manufacturer has to cut it somehow as well, right?
Lockpicking lawyer's hydrolic bolt cutter exploded on it.
Angle grinders will cut through anything, but they're loud, and if you have a lock that takes more than 30 seconds to grind or 1 grinder disk, well why would the thief bother vs one of the easier targets?
Also tape an airtag somewhere on the bike.
Neat. Could I request a link to the video? Exploding bolt cutters sounds cool.
Looks like it was the fahgettaboutit lock, but same thing https://youtu.be/jXoS_HB1I3o
PS, get the chain versions and not the ulock if possible, in test videos I watched it seemed like the chain versions were much more annoying for the angle grinder user. Look at how long it takes this guy, and in reality the chain isn't going to be on a nice platform like that https://youtu.be/uZdCNRcSkCk
Damn dude. Not bad. Will keep in mind if I ever need to anchor a safe in my basement (or a good bike).
